Making the case for user-centred design in healthcare
Design is a powerful tool for reducing risk, increasing efficiency and improving outcomes at scale. But how can we make the case for it, in a context of scarce resources? This session will cover how and why user-centred design (UCD) works, and how to make the case for investing in it.
We’ll discuss methods for defining UCD’s potential impact for patients and NHS providers, and highlight the advantages of a structured approach to test and learn, for risk reduction and early demonstration of value.
Case studies will be used to demonstrate the value of UCD-led healthcare projects to patients and the NHS. These will include a project that guided procurement to procure the right service, and a project to transform the way eyecare is delivered.
Following a presentation from Rochelle Gold and Gavin Maguire, there will be a 20-minute panel discussion and Q&A.
This session is sponsored by NEC Software Solutions UK.
