Improving interface working across mental health and acute A&E services
As pressures and demands continue to increase for both mental health and acute A&E care, there is a need for teams to work closer together, both on shared issues as well as to improve the overall interface between the two sectors. This is critical for improving care, experience and outcomes for patients as well as managing operational challenges, processes and relationships.
This interactive session will bring together leaders from across a range of sectors to learn, reflect and share what works and where we can work together to improve. We will feature a case study of good practice from Lincolnshire, who will share how they have made improvements in patient care of people with mental ill health accessing emergency departments. We will also hear how they have improved how they treat people in the most appropriate settings and improved the patient experience and flow when accessing care. This will be an important opportunity to reflect on barriers, gaps, opportunities and solutions for improvement, with a focus on collaboration and partnership to improve the experience and outcomes of people with mental ill health when accessing care.
