How to involve the public in the delivery of the ten-year health plan

12 Jun 2025
Exchange Hall - main stage
Collaboration / partnerships / patient or public engagement , Mobilising change / improvement

Developing the ten-year health plan has involved one of the ‘biggest national conversations about the future of the NHS since its birth’. During this session, senior leaders involved in the development will reflect on what they learned from the process and how to ensure the public has a ‘voice’ during the plan’s delivery. The panel will discuss:

• how the public were engaged in the policymaking process, with examples of how the public’s insights and views influenced decision-making
• how Change NHS was different to previous engagement exercises, with reflections on what worked well and what could be improved in future
• how we can use the lessons learned to ensure more people are able to influence decisions that impact their health, including during delivery of the ten-year health plan.
