Genomics: supporting the three strategic shifts and improving outcomes for patients
The NHS Genomic Medicine Service was launched in 2018 and now delivers over 800,000 genomic tests per annum for patients in the NHS in England. Genomics has a key role to play in supporting the government’s three strategic shifts in healthcare from hospital to community; from analogue to digital; and from sickness to prevention. This session will showcase some of the ground-breaking examples of genomics being delivered in the NHS for patients in England, as well as some of the potential opportunities to go further through the ten-year health plan.
