Cancer: Project Zero – enabling a world-leading National Cancer Plan

12 Jun 2025
Charter 4
Cancer , Digital, AI, data and technology

This panel will consider three opportunities, which through the delivery of the cancer plan, could revolutionise cancer care in this country:
• Early intervention is crucial for curative treatment and long-term survival, yet only around 55% of cancers are detected early. Whilst this has been improving, more needs to be done to reduce late-stage diagnoses.
• Digital & AI has the potential to impact most aspects of oncology. If harnessed to their full potential, AI will help revolutionise care and outcomes.
• Precision diagnostics will become increasingly important as the number of medicines increases. A personalised approach can improve therapeutic effects of treatment and minimise adverse reactions.
